24 Year Old Music Producer Jabari Kafele Wants That Old Thing Back In R&B
Jabari Kafele, graduate of Claflin University, a Historically Black College or HBCU in South Carolina has big plans for the future of R&B. The young New Jersey native has a passion for developing artists and producing classic R&B sounds with the start of his own record label. Kafele is closer than ever to making his music mogul dreams reality.
Kafele’s start in the music industry came when an opportunity from rapper Meek Mill. Back in 2012, Meek Mill was set to perform at the homecoming concert on South Carolina State University’s campus, another HBCU near Claflin. Meek Mill, a favorite artist of Kafele’s and he was not going to let the chance escape him.
Jabari Kafele made his way to the campus of SCSU and managed to meet Meek Mill and from there, begin to make his moves through the industry. This meeting granted Kafele the opportunity to work with rapper Omelly and gain key experience with top names in the music industry.
During undergrad, Jabari Kafele completed internships with Bad Boy Entertainment, Ciroc Vodka, and Roc Nation, building an impressive resume. Throughout his internships, Jabari gained experience with developing and implementing marketing campaigns, brand promotion, coordinating successful events and other intangible lessons on succeeding in a make it or break it world.
Today, Kafele uses his knowledge, and drive his own record label Bari Entertainment. As someone who grew up listening to 80s and 90s R&B, he hopes to restore some of these classic sounds in music today. Jabari pushes artists to exist as their most authentic selves to create timeless music. Bari Entertainment will produce soul-stirring artistry to capture hearts and minds while transcending industry norms.
